While Im on the topic of light skin, let me fill in the blanks for people making assumptions about my children. Our donors father was AA and his mom was from Egypt. Just to provide clarity on this process, there are very few known AA donors. He was also light brown. I have no problem sharing that. His complexion didnt matter to us at ALL. What mattered most to us was his African ancestry. We were committed to making sure our ancestry prevailed. Now, if Bug and Ladybug remain light skinned, I will teach them the same principles I would if they were darker skinned. They are beautiful just the way they are. Colorism exist in our current world and it is their responsibly to educate and break down barriers that continue to divide is. If they stay lighter, they will have privileges because of their hue. They will also know that dark skinned blacks are unfairly marginalized because of their complexion. They will be hyper aware of this issue and operate with grace and consciousness. Now if you were wondering, you can stop. *walks off* Lets be clear, your curiosity does not offend me :)
