While My Guitar Gently Weeps written by George Harrison was recorded on the evening of September 6. 1968 with an uncredited lead guitar solo by Eric Clapton. That was about a month after I met and joined a couple on the ferry from Hoek van Holland to Harwich, England that were on an ISKON mission to George Harrison in London. The recording used a varispeed technique with engineer Chris Thomas manually waggling or wobbling the oscillator because Eric Clapton didnt want it to sound like him. youtube/watch?v=dN6RcepwnVM
