While cleaning up my scale model display yesterday, I decided to - TopicsExpress

While cleaning up my scale model display yesterday, I decided to take time to shoot some of my old favourites. This was one of my first extensive detailing projects. The base kit was Italeris Bergepanther recovery tank. The kit was adequate but lacked a lot of detail. The winch assembly was very basic and some parts were the wrong way around. I redetailed it using photo references and added scratchbuilt parts. The crew compartment was extensively detailed as well. The tow cable was made of picture hanging wire. The roadwheels were replaced with those from Tamiyas Panther G kit and the tracks replaced with Model Kasten individual workable links. Zimmerit was added using Tamiya Putty and the old Tamiya zimmerit tool. The model was painted in Tamiya acrylics and weathered with oil paint and pastels. This was submitted in the early 90s to the Track-Link page as a build article. Many parts have since broken off and the kit will need a little minor repair.
