While doing a lakewatch this morning at the Marquette Park concession stand in Gary, I looked down the way and saw this Snowy Owl sitting on a sand dune. I decided to stay put and took this shot from about 175 yards away. Alex Forsythe arrived a bit later and got a much better photo when she and her birding companions got closer. The bird disappeared soon afterwords, possibly due to a dog off leash.
