While everybody seemingly rants on about immigration and migrants, - TopicsExpress

While everybody seemingly rants on about immigration and migrants, it is worth remembering that Britain went to war in 1939 because Nazi Germany invaded Poland aided and abbetted by the Soviet Union. The Poles, and men from other European states also invaded by the Nazis, fought extremely bravely to save this country from invasion. At the end of the war, the Polish forces were not allowed to take part in any victory parades. Their participation would have soured the diplomatic relationship with the Soviets who the Western Powers had allowed to seize control of Poland and Eastern Europe. Their sacrifice was a major contribution to the defeat of Nazism and we, the British, treated them appallingly by turning our backs on them. In addition to remembering those from this country who gave up their lives defending the things that we, so glibly, take for granted, remember those immigrants and asylum seekers who made their way here to help us in our hour of need.
