While i have great respect and admiration for Professor Baryamureba-asober computer wizard with impeccable academic credentials,I have developed alot of misgivings about his reputation after reading the recently published Biography authored by one Rebecca Tumwebaze titled THE IDEAL UGANDA:P MY PERSPECTIVES FROM PROF VENANSIUS BARYAMUREEBA.He boasts as afounder of Bidandi Ssalis PPP yet he portrays himself in the public as sworn supporter of NRM.He He recalls how he lost Ibanda south Parliamentary seat due to electoral irregularities.He goes ahead to inform us that his constituents are yearning for his leadership but reveals how he is nolonger interested in elective politics. Among other things,he lists anumber of dignitaries and movers and shakers of business,academia and politics he has met during his career.He goes to market his briefcase institute UTAMU and makes afunny joke that asection of some scholars have already named it Massachussets Institute of technology of Africa.I find this biography populist and only meant to emphasize his position in Ugandan elite society that seems to be fading after his unceremonial exit from Makerere University.I confess that i have not been inspired by this piece.DISCLAIMER:This is purely motivated by my feelings and opinion.
