While in Houston yesterday we took the opportunity to go see the movie The American Mustang in 3-D. Of course being a person that loves all things horsey with a particular interest in the Mustang, I enjoyed this documentary. It told the story of the Mustang thru the narration of a young girl who was writing a school report about the history and present situation that the breed finds itself in today. It told the story of Wild Horse Annie who singled handedly saved the breed from eradication and got the first legislation passed to protect them. Even now one of our national treasures is in peril from the very government organization, the BLM, that has been designated to protect them. The documentary is full of statistics and heart wrenching videos without showing us the gory details but getting the point across that the Mustangs still need our help and better stewardship to maintain their proper place in our heritage and deserve our protection. I urge everyone to please make an effort to go see this well done documentary and give any support you can to the Mustang. They deserve it because they are such a special breed.
