While it has spoiled our museum plans, its good that France is committed to interdiction in Mali to fight Islamic militant extremism that use terrorism as a platform for their agenda. That group is tied in to Al Qaeda which we are also fighting all over the world. More of the western nations need to be doing this because those groups have explicitly voiced their despise for the western way of life and their intent to inflict harm to our people. The Gendarmerie were highly visible at targets like the Eiffel Tower and the embassies on Rue Faubourg St-Honore.
