While it is a welcome move that the new government is planning river development and Ganga rejuvenation with special ministry, it has started with wrong focus on controlling individuals spitting in Ganga rather than addressing the real cause: Industries and manufacturing units which are dumping toxic metals, untreated toxic effluents and sewage into the river. Hope the government focuses on creating laws which monitors and restricts these major pollutants and help keep our water clean from harmful substances all across India.
