While it is laudable that Narendra Modi has invited Nawaz Sharif to his swearing-in on Monday, and also the fact that the latter has accepted the invite, it is hard to not notice Shiv Senas deafening silence in this matter. With 18 MPs, the SS is one of the largest allies in the NDA and they would be sharing space with the prime minister of the country of which they are so openly critical. Had it been a congress led government that had invited Sharif, allegations would have flown thick and fast about this being a signal of being soft on terror and that it is an act of Muslim appeasement. Talk of double standards....
