While it is very pleasing to see a man you have supported and voted for, getting the adulations of many and brickbats of few(read Rajdeep Sardesai), I am more interested in his itinerary for today. Success(or Failure) of this trip will be measured by the amount of deliverable our PM can bring home or how he manages to reduce the friction in Indo-US relationship over N.Liabilty, IPR, Pharma etc. Can he use USA to balance China? Can India walk the tight rope between Russia and USA? What are the commitments we can get from USA over Afghanistan? About ISIS, LeT, Qaida etc? Therefore watch the news space today, yesterday it was a celebration nothing more nothing less. UN speech was more of playing to the galleries than anything substantial. Lets watch what he does today. I will be looking at his body language to begin with, It will give us a hint as to how much bargaining Indian PM and his team are capable of. MMS looked like a employee going to meet his employer, his body language was very weak/negative. It was a let down whenever you saw MMS at a summit meeting.
