While no firm dollar amount was given, the chairmen of the House and Senate Veterans Affairs committees say they have reached a tentative deal for providing more funding to fix problems recently discovered in the VA healthcare system. Legislation is in the works that would hold the VA more accountable, and recruit more doctors, nurses and other health care professionals.
