While not a resident of Texas, I am a fan of Governor Rick Perry - TopicsExpress

While not a resident of Texas, I am a fan of Governor Rick Perry for his fearless leadership and willingness to stand his ground for what is right. Perry knows first hand what problems that allowing free access to cross our borders can cause. He has taken up the unenviable task of shoring up our borders when the Federal government and the President would not do so. In fact, our current president has done exactly the opposite and freely encourages undocumented aliens to enter without detriment to their entry at all. Governor Perry has been indicted recently for standing his ground by not funding a public integrity group for the county of Austin, Texas ( the only Democrat county in Texas). The reason for his decision is very simple. The D.A. for Austin is Rosemary Lehmberg, a convicted drunk driver. She was arrested while 3 times over the legal limit as she weaved her car in and out of the bicycle lane with an open bottle of vodka on the passenger seat next to her. Lahmberg became so belligerent, she had to be restrained while in custody, during her arrest. Governor Perry feels that the D.A. and the county have been abusing the system and that the Public Integrity Group has failed to do its duty. In an effort to combat the fact that this group has failed the citizens of Austin, Governor Perry vetoed the funding for the Austin Public Integrity Group ( which is well within his powers to do so) and now has been indicted for doing so. I say well done Governor Perry ! We need more people who are willing to stand up for what is right and less of those who are just looking out for themselves. If you are in favor of this indictment, you must support the ability to drive drunk anytime you feel the need to do so and without any consequences. Shame on anyone who thinks this is a good way to run a city, county, state or even a country. Grow a backbone America.....we had one once and we were a great nation. Now, whenever someone does the right thing, like those who came before us did, we prosecute them. SHAME ! I think we need someone like Perry in our White House that wont bow down to others and someone who is a real American. Someone who believes that we have been embarrassed enough by those who are now bedfellows with those who would do harm to our country. Good for you Governor Perry.....Good for us as well for your integrity and backbone.
