While out walking this morning, I come across this Great White - TopicsExpress

While out walking this morning, I come across this Great White Egret - which is not surprising since a pair has been out in the marsh here since spring. However, this one let me get within a couple of feet of it...so I knew something was wrong! To make a long story short, I talk to a lady at the Big Bend Wildlife Sanctuary in Enterprise, (while staying close to the bird) and find out it is Nationally protected because it is migratory. No volunteers close by that are trained and allowed to capture it and take it to safety:( As I am out there for several hours with it, I enjoy not only watching it feed like crazy, but I get to visit with neighbors passing by:) One said he almost hit it the other day as it was crossing Rifle Range!! I am thinking, #1 it could get hit by a car, #2 TOUGH bird...thats a busy road! I went home and got my decent camera rather than my phone and got a few more shots. I just pray for safety and healing for this magnificent bird!
