While reading Louis Therouxs Dark Star Safari one could not help but notice how critical he was about Africa on his journey south from Egypt, pointing out how much the continent had gone backwards since his last visit, and castigating the general incompetence of the Black African people. However, on crossing the border into South Africa, he noted how organized that country was, and how excellent the infrastructure. But, this glaring difference did not stop him ranting about the White African, and hauling out all the old, discredited liberal clichés about oppression. Go figure.
