While reading a book given to me, I had a startling realization that some people strive to make their dog happy via overindulgence (excess food, treats) and no boundaries. This saddens me because the happiest dogs I know are not rude obese dogs, but dogs that enjoy healthy activities with their owners, have clear rules and boundaries, are a healthy weight and a joy to be around as they have been properly trained and socialized.
