While reading the Stainmaster carpet warranty I observed that their Lifetime warranty means for the lifetime of the carpet. Also, Lowes does not charge sales tax when you order carpet from them. That does not mean you dont owe it. They arrange for you to buy it from the manufacturer, who is not obliged to collect sales tax if he does not have a distribution center in your state. Make no mistake, you still owe sales tax. If/when your state finds out you owe unpaid sales tax you will also owe penalties and interest on the tax.
