While running on the beach this morning in the heavy rain, I saw a girl crouched down from a distance by the shoreline. She was wearing all black with her hood over her head and did not see me approaching. Then I saw her dump ashes at just the right spot to where the waves could slowly come up and take them away. I realized what was happening and instantly felt for her and slowed my pace to not startle this girl going through such an emotional time. As I was slowly jogging and approaching her about 15 feet away she looked up with a calm, relaxed look and smiled with tear filled eyes, so I offered her a warm smile back and waved. It was as is she was telling me that she was ok just from her eyes and smile. The strength that I read from this girls eyes was unbelievable! I know that some people ask to have their ashes put into the sea when they pass away, seeing it happen when your endorphins are up from running on the beach in the rain makes it hit your heart on a whole different level. That moment will stay with me forever even though I dont know who this girl was.
