While some people may feel that Memorial Day marks the beginning of their summer, a day off work or cookouts - the family of SSG James Hunter, other Gold Star families, and their brothers and sisters in arms understand its true meaning. For us, Memorial Day means so much more, it is so much more personal. It is the day that we honor our fallen who have given their life during active duty. We carry pride in honoring those who have given everything for us, and sorrow for the loss that so many have suffered. We do not need one day to honor our lost, we honor them each day. As you continue with your day, please take a moment to remember, pray for, and thank those who have given their everything for you. God bless our fallen troops.
