While spelunking through Cowley and western Chautauqua counties today, I ran through the town of Dexter (not my first visit) and stopped at the Grouse Valley Grill and fueling station. The gentleman, Randy, who appeared to be the owner/operator was very friendly and chatty. I spoke with him for several minutes about timber whereabouts, the commonality of prairie rattlesnakes (massassuagas) and mudpuppies. He was very interested and I left him with my last two copies (with me at the time) of the snake guide. He insisted I write my contact information inside so the locals can keep me in the know of things as well. =] Long story short, it was a very JTC feeling moment. =]
