While spending three days in the hospital with Kirstin I tried to - TopicsExpress

While spending three days in the hospital with Kirstin I tried to focus on the positives. The Jackson Holzer ER was awesome. The doctor and our nurses were top notch. I felt very confident with the decisions they made for Kirstin. Once we got to Gallipolis, the nurses were still great (they were stretched too thin but still provided the best care possible). The main problem (and it was huge) was we didnt have a primary doctor so Kirstin was just assigned a hospitalist. We didnt have any say in this and the doctors (two) that were in charge of her care didnt know her and really didnt make an effort to get to know her. I didnt feel confident with their decisions. We researched a lot on our own and asked advice from others. The reason I am writing this is just to let others be warned. It is important to have a doctor you can call your primary doctor and has knowledge of your medical history. And dont believe everything a doctor tells you. They are human just like us. They make mistakes. Some just plain old dont care. I know there are many, many excellent doctors out there but just be careful.
