While strong winds have hampered the efforts of many school - TopicsExpress

While strong winds have hampered the efforts of many school holiday fishos those that have got out have done quite well on flathead from camel rock to cemetery between 28-40metres, still a few nice gummys in the mix also. The northerly factor has meant that the reefs to our south have remained virtually unfished for over a week. Out wide a few albacore have been caught and some good makos too. Reports from Sydney south to JB have us sweating on some good water holding plenty of big yellowfin which we predict to be upon us mid October but early hopes for this long weekend will see plenty of boats giving it a shot (weather permitting). The estuaries remain patchy however as we warm up so will the fish, for the bait anglers a solid burley trail and small strips of striped tuna will give best results while those wishing to fish plastics should focus their efforts on small 65-100mm wrigglers and fish pattern lures in natural colours. The beaches have been tough of late with long waits and plenty of patience seeming to be the key to success. The fish will show up, you may just have to wait. Cheers Josh.
