While teaching World History in the city I learned that one of the main obstacles we have to traverse to get our kids to engage in their academic success is the influence of the media. So we started CFC. We protested, like our ancestors, with little results and little support. Our board started to think about what it is that we are truly seeking. We decided that we are seeking programming. We would like to see a program in the schools that helps our kids think critically about the influence of media in an effort to maintain their own integrity and drive in the midst of the attack on their most precious mental resource.
