While this article is somewhat entertaining, I really find the use of the word real woman as a differentiating characteristic (and therefore something that stigmatizes anyone who identifies as female for having traits this author considers girlish or not those that belong to a woman/real woman) is wrong. Im sure there are plenty of women and girls alike who eat salads out because they want to be healthy. Or maybe they have an eating disorder, and dont like the stigma associated with fatty foods. That doesnt make them less of a woman. There are plenty of women that like to watch junk TV in order to relax and not think, or women who want to talk about trivial things, or women that like Facebook. Does that make them any less of a woman? No. Just like men dont have to know how to build a house or lift weights in order to be a real man, theres no inherent characteristics that make a woman a real woman, and pretending their is or that their should be only enforces negative societal stereotypes that punishes those that dont fit into societies gendered box.
