While this trend of dropping $800 to $1300 to buy free coffee for total strangers makes for great feel good news stories, the fact is that the people who get the coffee can already afford it. The $3000 that has already been spent in Edmonton alone could sure buy a lot of meals at the Hope Mission for the homeless and the near homeless who sell their bodies for $10 just to get something to eat.
