While waiting for regular shows to come back on for the fall, which I believe will be next week, Amy and I have been watching House. A couple of random thoughts on this show: 1. How has House managed to do his doctor stuff without being sued? In one episode, he lets a baby die to test which medicine will save the rest. In another episode, he prescribes radiation to a patient who has a tapeworm. Yet this guy is seen as a genius. Really? 2. Houses team is 4 doctors, and they all prescribe all kinds of tests and procedures to find out what the disease of the week is. How much would all of that cost? One episode dealt with a single mom who was mentally ill and on public assistance. Is there any way that a person like that could afford that kind of care? Wouldnt that cost thousands and thousands of dollars? Im thinking that theres no way a regular person could afford all of that. I know Im applying logic to an illogical situation. But these questions persist in my mind.
