While watching an episode of the Big Bang Theory, I noticed that they eat dinner around their coffee table- which led to an epiphany... That was their dinner table. Back in the day it was custom that the family sat together at the dinner table and ate dinner. This was where the family discussed what was happening in their individual lives. However with the change of family structure and complex time restraints, a lot of families no longer eat at the table let alone eat together anymore.
