While we have our attention on the Trayvon Martin case, I want to point out that in some states, like Colorado, there is a strict law against stalking, because bullies and abusers often stalk and hunt their victims down. You stalk someone in Colorado, you go to jail. Without such laws, you give a license to people to mentally and emotionally terrorize others. I do not know exactly what happened between the two during the fight, but Trayvon had every right to defend himself. End of story. George Zimmerman began to terrorize Trayvon as soon as he followed him. There are good reasons why some states have adopted stalking laws. Ask any battered woman what it feels like to live in constant fear by your stalker. Oh, I guess the state of Florida screwed that one up too, at the tune of 20 years. Everyone should boycott Florida.
