While we were hearing all of the chaos down on State Street (aka Central in some areas) and there were helicopters flying all over, not a damned thing on local TV. Could have been an invasion, sure sounded like one, but who could know? That was between 7 and 8 pm by the way. On the 11 pm news, WNYT reported the person in the white Jetta had thrown garbage out a window at the police. WTEN reported they had stolen a bottle of liquor and allegedly had brandished a sword at the store clerk who followed them to the parking lot. Yes, he brought a sword to a gunfight. Anyway, after seeing both reports, Eric had the perfect analogy for this last night. He said it was like having a blind man report on an elephant. Holding its tail, the blind man would say: Its a snake! I know its a snake. Touching its leg, he would report it was a tree. Perfect analogy for the media these days. All we know so far is a lot of cars were hit, massive amounts of sirens and racing cars, plus far too many helicopters, and 12 hours later, it is still a cluster f*ck of misinformation.
