While youre all remembering countless active, retired, and lost soldiers today, take a moment to make a promise to me, them, and yourself: Promise that you will still remember the soldiers and their families when it is easier to point a finger and judge them. They made a choice, for good or for bad; a choice that is occasionally criticized and deemed a mistake by those with loud mouths. Remember this promise when it is easier to judge them for fighting like pawns on a chess board on behalf of citizens and lawmakers that only have a point to prove. Thank you to friends, family, and even strangers for your duty, and sacrifice. In the end, this isnt simply a day to be patriotic; it is also a day to remember the fragments of men and women who return from war, incomplete in body, or spirit, or mind. A day for us to appreciate the heroes without capes, from all nationalities, who attempt to ward off evil.
