Whilst Megan has already given you this news I feel it is worth posting another article about it. W,Virginia has caused many an argument on this page because it is colored green on our map, The criteria of the map says that states are green if they have a passed bill that bans gassing animals statewide. The problem with W,Virginia is that it has had that passed bill for some time, and yet as we knew & were continually told there were still shelters there that gassed. This happened because of a grandfather clause to the bill that said shelters could continue gassing in their chamber until the Chamber itself was in need of replacement, sadly this left many animals to still face this awful death. Happily now though things are coming together & following this announcement there will be just one Chamber still in use in the state .. Wyoming county. Moving forward all be it at a sad slow pace is very frustrating to say the least but we are moving forward & that is what matters. Thanks again to the HSUS for their grant to help the transition to ebi, perhaps the people in Wyoming county will now approach their local committee & stand up to make the whole of the state honor the green status they are credited with ~ Chrissy register-herald/todaysfrontpage/x1664884342/Grant-helps-Raleigh-County-Humane-Society-get-rid-of-gas-chamber
