Whilst perusing the shelves in local Morrisons yesterday my daughter asked me when did Halloween become a huge thing. It seemed like a billion pound way of draining parents money. When I was a kid we had a turnip lantern (which stunk, pumpkins hadnt been invented. We had an apple on a bit of string for you to lose a milk tooth in and a toffee apple to encourage the mouthful of dental caries the sugar rich diet I was on to grow some more. The nearest to Halloween telly was scooby doo and it was always the caretaker or someone from you could suss from the start. Can anyone sort of pinpoint the period in time when the change happened. Is it just me or has it all gone crazy. Rest assured if I had a child of the required age I would probably be dressed up doing a flashmob of Michael Jacksons thriller whilst throng 20quids worth of haribo in the air.
