White House State of STEM 2015 On behalf of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Office of Public Engagement, we would like to invite you and your students to participate in the third annual State of Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics address, or “SoSTEM”. This event will feature Dr. John P. Holdren, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and Director of OSTP, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden and other special guests, including crew members of Expedition 42 aboard the International Space Station. NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Terry Virts, currently in orbit 250 miles above Earth, will engage with students via a live communications downlink. Following the Earth-to-Station video chat, there will be a special panel focused on engaging more students in STEM -- particularly girls. This exciting SoSTEM event will take place Wednesday, January 21, 1:15-3 p.m. EST. It will be carried live on NASA Television and through the agency’s Digital Learning Network. nasa.gov/nasatv nasa.gov/offices/education/programs/national/dln/ Students may submit questions during the event via Twitter using #SoSTEM #AsktheWH.
