White House aide: Obama could be impeached July 25, 2014 Obama could be impeached, USA Today reports White House aide Dan Pfeiffer as saying today at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor. Pfieffer mentioned the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, going forward with a lawsuit against President Obama that he says has “opened the door” to the impeachment of the president. Many Republicans leaders, including the 2008 candidate for vice president and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, have called for Republicans in Congress to impeach Barack Obama. Impeachment is a very serious thing that has been bandied about by the recent Republican vice presidential nominee and others in a very un-serious way, Pfieffer said, We take it very seriously and I dont think it would be a good thing. Pfieffer also claimed that “no one has alleged anything that is even six universes from what is generally considered (impeachable).” Many Republicans disagree with that statement, including Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who published a list of what he believes are 76 impeachable offenses by President Obama. Palin outlined her case for Obamas impeachment in an article published by Breitbart News. Also, former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy also drafted and published seven articles of impeachment against Obama.
