White River celebrated its 26th annual Winnie’s Hometown Festival this past weekend and marked the 100th anniversary of Winnie. Friday’s events included the historical re-enactment of the purchase of the little black bear named Winnie, followed by the Shirt Tail parade & Teddy Bear Picnic/Childrens Games and much more. This annual family friendly festival spans from Thursday to Sunday every third weekend in August, so if you missed this year’s celebration be sure to mark your calendar for next year.
