Whitsunday independent liberal democrat Capn Dan sticks in his oar Queensland Crapitalist may tumble in poll. Except nothing will change, except the brand Monopoly is never good and Queensland Canegrowers can depend on myself as an independent candidate to oppose anti competitve corporate greed. It is important in this context to address the issue of dodgy dealings and creeping crony capitalism = crapitalism, that is destroying regional Queensland with the favouritism and money going to the city. Im not a farmer but have been a fisher. On board ships we have used solar power for many years and I have solar on my roof at home. The state government must support solar and innovation like sugar mill co-generation and ethanol. Unhappily, the state government has an uncompetitive strangle hold through ownership of Ergon leading to 114% cost increase in five years for sugar mills and 96% for irrigators (sugar industry figures) Ergon is government owned and has no competition by law. Are you happy when you get your power bill? Im not. Business and especially rural business must be involved and have a say in transport and all relevant safety issues. Big government bureaucracies do not understand the workings of everyday life in the rural sector. Independent leadership is needed to ensure country people and rural industries are heard and heeded. A valuable export industry such as sugar and any primary produce must be ensured of proper support to remain competitve to retain existing and gain new markets. Business not bureaucracy. Government needs be business like and balance the books. Furthermore we citizens need our property rights protected and I dont see that happening with any recent governments.
