Who Are You Impressing? Matthew 6:1-4 If the whole world was blind, how many people would you impress? It is reported that St. Francis of Assisi once said, “Always share the gospel and when necessary use words”. We are supposed to show the love of Christ through our actions and life. When people notice we are doing something that is out of the ordinary, radical or just opposite of what the world would do, they will want to know why – hence, your opportunity to share what Christ has done for you. We are told in today’s scripture (Matthew 6:3), “When you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” We are supposed to do things for people without boasting or letting them know you did something for them. The glory is for God and not for us. I know there are many great gifts and rewards we could receive from the world, but I know our God is the God of the universe, a reward from Him is far better and more worthwhile than anything we could receive here. We don’t do things for others so they see us and get impressed, we do it out of love for them and Christ. (Colossians 3:17) God Loves Ya;)
