Who Remembers Tubby Carpers Model Train Display???? .... One of my old childhood friends, from Alum Creek, Gene Hudson, sent me this link. This is the most elaborate Model Train display, I have ever seen. I, also loved the model trains up on the 5th Floor of The Diamond Dept Store in Charleston each year around Christmas, each year. But another impressive Model Train was that of on of my 4th Grade teacher Mrs.Carper son, Tubby Carper. She was always telling us about Tubbys Model Train display. Although Tubby Carper her son,could not speak, I was so impressed when finally I made it to Duval High School and one day, Tubby invited a few us down in the basement of his home, to see his model train display. What an impressive display, to watch it in operation... Tubby with his Engineers Cap on... Now most remember Tubby was like an instituion at Duval.
