Who am I? It is written, that God seeks a contrite heart! But am I, like the condition of my heart? We know David forgetful of his dignity, exceeding the bounds of decorum, in a hearty demonstration of his feelings, allowed his flesh, to align with his spirit, and danced before the Lord. A.B. Bruce wrote “David, Mary, Jesus, all loving, devoted beings, prophets, apostles, martyrs, confessors, belong to one company, and come all under one condemnation. They must all plead guilty to a waste of affection, sorrow, labor, tears; all live so as to earn for themselves the blame of extravagance, which is their highest praise. David dances, and Michal sneers; prophets break their hearts for their people’s sins and miseries, and the people make sport of their grief; Mary’s break their alabaster boxes, and frigid disciples object to the waste; Men of God sacrifice their all for their religious convictions, and the world calls them fools for their pains, and philosophers bid them beware of being martyrs by mistake; Jesus weeps over sinners that will not come to Him to be saved, and thankless men ask, why shed tears over vessels of wrath fitted for destruction?” Why indeed; when I’m taught not to trust my feelings, because feelings are often driven by emotion, and my emotions are not to be trusted, because they are fleeting. To what then do I adhere to, a mindset that creates more distance between my spirit and flesh, that allows my flesh to not care for those that are lost, when Jesus weeps; for those whose flesh won’t allow their hearts to be broken!. And now I pray. Father, help! Fleshly eyes see, what was shown, when hearts eyes open saw, Grace’s extravagance; spirit seeing it sufficient, prompt flesh to alliance, selling all, all is given now to follow. I AM! Dancing! See it! Help! I ask in Jesus name; Amen! POWERSFORGOOD!!
