Who are We? Kara and Larry have lived in San Diego since 1998. Kara is from New Jersey originally and has a 25 year background in sales and marketing... The first ten years of Karas career was in the high-tech business. In 1999 Kara decided to venture into residential real estate. Then in 2007, after working with some of the most successful real estate firms in San Diego, she and Larry formed their own real estate company, Inspiratus Real Estate Group, DBA: Coastal Property Management Group of San Diego for which she is now the broker of record. Larry is originally from St. Louis, but lived in the Phoenix area for 8 years prior to moving to California. Larry accepted a transfer to the Bay Area, also in the high tech sector. Larry worked in sales and management for 20 years prior to meeting Kara in San Jose. They tied the knot on New Years’ Eve of 1998 in La Jolla. Larry joined Kara in real estate in 2000, just shy of one year after Kara jumped into real estate with both feet. After an eight year career of real estate sales, Larry made the transition into real estate management in 2006. They have been married 14 years and been working together even longer! They have two daughters, Jill who is 33 and living on her own in Scottsdale and little Holli who is 10 and in 4th grade. They enjoy spending time together as a family and enjoy all of San Diego’s fun spots. They frequent the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Balboa Park, and love the beach! Moonlight Beach in Encinitas is one of their favorites but Ponto beach is where you can often find them on a power walk late in the afternoon. They are also very involved in their church and community. They have helped sponsor events like a women’s business suit drive for the “Dress For Success” organization, helping less fortunate women get into the workplace by providing business attire for job interviews. They also donated their property listing services to San Diego Youth & Community Services, a local non-profit that had a need to liquidate one of their properties. There are lots of community programs they like to help with, like helping collect blankets in winter for the homeless downtown and helping their daughter fill baby bottles with quarters for a fundraiser at a teen pregnancy center. Giving back is very important to the Horats. Their real estate business has become a big part of their life. “Helping people care for their properties is a big deal, its a huge investment for most people and we help our clients care for their homes as if it were our own home. Our main goal is to build relationships in our business. Our hope is to keep our clients for a lifetime, not just one transaction”, says Kara. Larry comments, “Our goal is to make the process simple, we are easy to work with, hold ourselves to a high standard and are always professional. We are not pushy “salespeople” and I think our clients really appreciate that - and thats what they tell us. Most of our business comes from our past clients and friends and that’s the best compliment we can receive. We really love what we do, I think that’s the main reason for our success.”
