Who broke the country, Religion cannot be the cause of nation - TopicsExpress

Who broke the country, Religion cannot be the cause of nation building: I have theory that I propound : And Rabindranath Tagore, 1913 Nobel Prize In Literature is in the forefront of that theory. No one broke Pakistan; it was an aberrant perverted intellectual divide. Bengal was intellectually ahead of Punjab and years ahead of feudal lords. Yes, they were underprivileged and broke, but they were a different nation and an original nation. Religions never amalgamate a nation, if that was the case, Islam and OIC should have been one. There are 56 countries for a reason; religion cannot coalesce nations, Bengalis are - were - is -a different nation. No one really broke Pakistan like no one really broke USSR, Yugoslavia. The acronym Pakistan does not even refer to Bengal (16th December is the culmination of Bengal national freedom movement), it does not contain any word that represented the majority province; the best we did was to call them as Pechami Pakistan. The London Boys like Ch. Rehmat and others, were playing jokes with history and geography, the rich literate nation of Noble Laureates like Tagore and poets like Nazrul Islam could not be fused with absolutely a different culture of UP and Punjab, plus other provinces! To put symbols of tribal botulism and its British slaves Zamindars like Twoannas in charge of the rich culture of Bengal and not to even mention them and subsequently weep that Pakistan broke is so blinkered an approach. It had to break, Mountbatten had predicted that to happen within 25 years. The boys copied Stan from every Stan around and just added a few – P for Punjab, S for Sind, but what about Bengal the majority? Nation building takes time. Indians talk as Indians as they had the brand name of thousands of years old; we copied ours out of nowhere, we created one, we are neither pure nor a stan home; our words make no acronymic sense. Bengal the largest constituent was not thought about in the acronym, and we still continue to argue why it broke. Bengal of Nazru-Islam and Tagore was culturally 100 years ahead of Lahore and 500 years ahead of Waziristan. Nations are not made on ideological underpinnings; if that was the case 56 nations of OIC should have been one, even if not that the Peninsular Arabia should be united, after all Damascus and Baghdad were the capital of Omayyads and Abbasids with Mecca and Medina as the twin holy cities. The misnomer of Khilafat is the greatest lie, they never were one. A nation that produced a laureate like this at the turn of the century was neglected, forgotten, used as a footnote of some very backward mindsets in the North and Punjab. Instead we have produced a land where minds are living in fear of death for dissent! Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come out from the depth of truth; Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action; Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
