Who can thwart satans agenda? Revelation 12:10-12 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” Revelation 12:10-12 God uses his faithful followers to sabotage satans plans. In this passage 3 significant ways are revealed to us about hoe these martyrs for the gospel stayed true to Jesus and overcame the devils attacks: 1. They overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb The bible says without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22). It is only through what Jesus did for us on the cross that we can approach God. These people knew that they could never go to heaven or overcome satans accusations on their own merit or ability. They realized that they had fallen short of Gods ideal, but they also knew that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:17). 2. They overcame him by their testimony The believers in these verses had come to understand what God had done for them and were proclaiming it to others. They not only realized that they had unconditional access to God, but they also sought to invade enemy territory by reaching out to others with the message of the gospel. 3. They overcame him by their attitude toward life These believers did not love their lives more than Christ. They endured execution for their faith because they realized a better life was awaiting them in heaven with Christ. As the Apostle Paul said, For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. History relates the story of a Christian who was persecuted by Rome for his faith. As he stood before the King, he was told, Give up Christ. If you dont Ill banish you. The Christian replied, You can not banish me from Christ, for God says, I will never leave you or forsake you. The ruler said, Ill confiscate your property. The Christian patiently answered, My treasures are laid up in heaven. You can not touch them. The ruler shot back, I will kill you! The Christian answered, Ive been dead to the world in Christ for 40 years. My life is hid with Christ in God. You cant touch it. The King turned to some members of his court and said in disgust, What can you do with such a fanatic? May God give His Church more men like this man.
