I said, Until You decide to stop me. God said, How long will you boil in the fire? I said, Until I am totally pure. God said, Have you taken an oat of love? I said, Yes my Lord, this is my oath of love: For the sake of Your Love, Ive given up on wealth and position. God said, You have pleaded your case, but you have no witness. I said, My tears are my witness, the pallor of my face is my proof. God said, Your witness has no credibility, your eyes are too wet to see. I said, By the splendor of Your presence, my eyes are clear and faultless. God said, What do you seek? I said, To have You as my constant Friend. God said, What do you want from Me? I said, Your abundant Grace. God said, Who was your companion on the journey? I said, The thought of You, O my King. God said, What called you here? I said, The fragrance of Your Divine Wine. God said, What brings you the most fulfillment? I said, Your lifelong company, O Companion of my soul. God said, What do you wish to find here? I said, A hundred miracles. God said, Why is the palace deserted? I said, They all fear the thief. God said, Who is the thief? I said, The one who keeps me away from You. God said, Where do find safety? I said, In service and renunciation. God said, What is there never to renounce? I said, The hope of salvation. God said, Where you do find salvation? I said, In the presence of Your Love. God said, How do you benefit from this life? I said, By standing firm in my faith. By keeping true to myself. Now it is time for silence, my friends. If I told you more about Gods True Essence, You would fly from your Self and be gone, and neither door nor roof could hold you back!
