Since when was Brad Dean elected or hired to be the City of Myrtle Beachs spokesman/mayor/police chief and/or city manager? The worst weekend in City history dating back to 1938 - and the only public statement on this Memorial Day weekend chaos we hear, is from a Chamber of Commerce employee?! Who is in charge? Does the 20 million dollars in AdTax money really run the City? Lets see, the mayor has been in charge for his 9th Black Bike week. The City Manager has been in charge for nearly 29 years and is retiring (he already did once and Council hired him back after a couple of days). The police chief has run his department since 1997 ( he also retired and the Manager hired him back). Plenty of experience. Years of opportunity, Memorial Day after Memorial Day, and the only thing to show for it is a lawsuit settlement with the NAACP, hundreds of thousands of dollars thrown to the wind with a SC Supreme Court loss and the overturning of the Citys helmet law, 3 tragic deaths Saturday night and at least one our local officers grazed by bullet...
