Who owns a residents association? Most people in Christchurch do not have an active residents association. In fact there are some parts of town that could do with one as their residents are needing a spokesperson and some way having their collective will known to authorities. In Northwood we have our residents association that is very active. However, if you think about the levels of activity the picture becomes interesting. We have a committee of 8 people, about 20 coordinators and then over 120 members. Much of the work is actually done by a handful of people. At the AGM we talked about an active community. Every one of your committee members is a busy person. They need to be supported from time to time by our community. So to answer the question - you do. If you think NRA is worthwhile and doing a good job for Northwood, consider lending a hand. For example, we have many phone calls to make for the Fair coming up in November, we need some signs to go up, we could do with some help with organising publicity.... People who work together on a good project for the community get so much out of it. So consider lending a hand. Can you say "Count me In"? We need help with this stuff.
