Who really are the evil forces. A friend told me of a story last week of a young cousin of hers who had her legs strapped with POP because a foreign object pierced the girls leg and was unable to walk properly. After the POP was removed the leg was in a worse state that amputation is now being suggested. The Doctor involved-I mean a teaching hospital doctor called the guardian of the girl to feed her a gullible story. The Doctors view was that the enemies were at work and that they should resort to traditional means of treatment. My response was that the Doctor was simply lying: shielding his incompetence or lack of equipment to really get the foreign object out of the girls leg. Resorting to local medication only takes the responsibility off him should things go wrong or worse. I narrated my own ordeal when I had a auto accident. On my right hand was a contusion which I believed was a broken glass embedded under my skin. All the medical personnel argued with me that it was a tissue. Alas a year later when the healing of the spot was near completion and my skin began to contact for healing the pain started. Because I knew it was a broken glass under my skin, I visited the hospital and had it removed. If It had happened in a more complicating part of the body maybe I would have become one of the medical mysteries in Nigeria. Typical of Nigerian it would have been regarded as the work of the devil. Such is the state of Nigeria where people in government attribute their failures, incompetence to the devils work. Corruption is the work of the devil but has human face, so also is common stealing. Insecurity is also the work of the devil but Book haram people are not ghost they live among us. The sorry state of our hospital is the work of the devil but people in government can go abroad for medical treatment. The sorry state of our road is the work of the devil, to the extent that we hold prayers for blood sucking spirit in ember month. What country of the world take notice of ember month for accident aside Nigeria. No common sense to know that traffic increase at that period and accident is bound to increase when the roads are in bad shape. The only common thing in ember period in countries with good road is sales offer on common commodities like clothes, shoes etc. not dead bodies. So we are our own enemies not the devil. So when we go to our churches and mosques to kill the enemies who are we killing. The Pastor leading the prayer who would not pass your file to his boss because you have not bribed him or the road safety official who is the usher but would exploit you or the Sunday school teacher who will not allow u to be employed because you have not offered him your body. The devil is really at work. I just wish the devil can show up to defend himself
