Who remembers straw hats during the summer of 1941?...this was Washington near Dearborn in downtown Chicago exactly 5 months before the surprise Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor... entering that war meant nothing in America would ever be the same again...including these hats which for some reason gradually went out of style...before long, most hats went out of style...well, at least as of a few hours ago!
