Who says teachers in the public schools arent doing ALL they can - TopicsExpress

Who says teachers in the public schools arent doing ALL they can to reach students & to make math (all subjects) meaningful & relevant? Our son Kris, and Matt who grew up next door, are math teachers now. Get this conversation (They lost me! hahaha) sparked by March Madness: Matt Asik: Theres only 9.2 quintillion ways to fill out the bracket... (2^63) if you could fill out one bracket per second it would only take you 292 billion years to complete all those brackets. Kris Atwater: Matt, did you use that in your classroom?...I talked about that as a lead in to experimental v. theoretical probability. Matt Asik: Yes, we did use it. I also love to show this video that illustrates the enormous difference between a billion and a trillion: m.youtube/watch?v=Tym9AhMNcP0
