Who the hell is sick of the changes being made in Australia by bully landlords and corporate style take overs of long standing markets????. I just keep hearing story after story and now one from Australia, from Perth. Ok Friends, Family , people I dont know... Lets make a bit of friendly noise about this one. I ask you to cut and past or just plain share this post, and I really encourage you to write a letter to the women mentioned at the end of the letter Im re posting. Its from a woman who just wrote to me asking me for help. Im not sure what I can do alone, but if we all that read this take 15 minutes to respond by email, letter or phone call to the Fremantle Markets in Perth we may just give this woman a helping hand and a much needed voice, in what seems to be another very unfair and not well handled set if changes at this old established market. Thank you for your time The letter below is what I received from Carmen Jankowski hi Monique im feeling really overwhelmed, distressed and hopeless. 2 weeks ago i was evicted from my shop at the Fremantle Markets in Perth, Western Australia because their new appointed CEO wanted my shop even though i have been trading there for 35 years! She had visions to take my business and told me that the only reason i was still trading at the Fremantle Markets was because i was a nice person. My clothing i have sourced for 35 years to specialize my regular and faithful customers and she tells me that (my clothing) was not suitable for her vision. she wants more upmarket clothing like Country Road, Ralph Lauren etc.....in a market i sell similar clothing but also introduce fashionable tie dyed clothing and sorts from Thailand and India...even alpaca ponchos from Bolivia (fair trade) and that couldnt keep her happy. your thoughts as i would really appreciate if you could look up their FB page....Fremantle Markets and make a comment that how sad to evict a shop been there for 35 years thats been loyal to them and has continuous customers. an article was written in the local paper and people were furious but made no difference to them.They are named Natasha Atkinson, Jamie Murdoch and John Murdoch from the FREMANTLE MARKETS, PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA .....can you help me please someway?
