Who watches the watchers? Im convinced (per arguments from guys like George Selgin & Schiff) that Washington has been making it easy for big banks for a long time. One example: FDIC depositor insurance allows banks to take risks they would *not* take in a truly free market. So while much of the angst goes to big banks, Washington deserves as much, if not more of the blame for facilitating & encouraging this crony capitalist mentality. I wonder if Carmen Segarra will be vilified like Edward Snowden?
